The American Psychological Association sent out 2 new proposed regulations that they are trying to illicit public comment on. The APA has moved to not accredit fully online schools that offer doctoral programs in psychology. They believe that classroom interation is vital as well as supervision on internships. I agree with the APA on this matter and to move to a total use of technology would leave out the vital professor pupil interaction. The discussion and brainstorming that takes place when students and a professor meet in session is vital to the development of the student. A student may have a unique question that when a professor or supervior is left out of the equation the question goes un-answered and no learning takes place. Engagement is vital for the increased integrity of the profession and to better assist our clients.
