Putting a link on a resume can give your potential employer a wealth of information about who you are and your dedication to a particular field before the you actually talk to them. Maintaining these sites shows that you go the extra mile and are generally interested in a particular topic. Now with employers no longer reimbursing you for travel to an interview this could act as a filter and save you from going to an interview that you don't even come close to qualifying for. There are many good free websites out there such as Linked IN, Twitter, Blogger, and other free website building software. Having that upper electronic edge will help you start that career faster in these tough economic times. Your potential employers are already going to Google you so why not make the results in your best intrest.
